Control mechanism.-In rotatablegrip handle-bar controls for motorcycles &c. of the type in which the cable 5 or other transmission device is outside the handle-bar 10 and is operated by a slidable sleeve 2 actuated by the rotatable grip 11 through a pin and helical slot mechanism 12, 6, the sliding sleeve 2 has its outer surface eccentric to its bore, so that sufficient thickness is provided on one side for the recess 3 accommodating the terminal block 4 of the cable, without unduly increasing the diameter of the grip. The grip 11 is rotatably supported on the sleeve 2 and on split bushes 13, 14 forming extensions of eccentric clips 8, 9 adapted to be clamped to the handle-bar, rotation of the sleeve 2 being prevented by a longitudinal strip of metal 15 forming, when gripped by the clips, a key engaging the edges of a slot or split in the thin side of the sleeve. One or both of the clips are provided with a friction device consisting of a leaf spring 16 bearing resiliently on the inner periphery of the grip 11. The cable 5 can be readily disconnected from the sleeve 2 by slackening the clip 8 and drawing it away from the grip, when the block 4 can be lifted out of its recess, and by a slight twist passed through a radial slot 17 in the bush 13 and clip 8.
