664,785. Twist grip controls. IZON, F. H. T., and AMAL, Ltd. May 11, 1950 [May 11, 1949], No. 12547/49. Class 136(i) In a twist grip of the kind comprising a fixed casing 2 which receives one end of a rotary sleeve 3, the inner wire 7 of a Bowden transmission mechanism being threaded through an aperture in the casing and attached to the sleeve so that upon rotating the sleeve the inner wire is drawn into the casing and wound round the periphery of the sleeve, the casing comprises a single piece of sheet metal pressed and folded to substantially annular form having a channel cross-section and two adjacent outstanding lug portions 16, 17 which receive a bolt 18 for clamping the casing upon the handlebars. The bolt 18 has a counter bore to receive the end of the control cable casing 20 and has a saw-cut 21 which allows the cable 7 free passage between the casing 2 and the casing 20. Rotary movement of the sleeve 3 is limited by an outstanding member 5 engaging a spring friction member 22 riveted to the casing 2.
