Abstract

274,544. Perl, A. H. F., and Gunn, F. V. April 14, 1926. Boxes formed from special blanks and combined with means for displaying advertisements; boxes convertible into toys.-A carton or boxlike receptacle made of shaped, creased and folded cardboard &c. sheets or of hinged metal &c. sheets and adapted to serve as a container for articles is arranged so that it can be turned inside out for use as a display support for the articles. A cardboard sheet A, Fig. 4, has a display opening 1 formed in it and is provided with crease lines 4 and tongue-and-groove connections 2. A second cardboard sheet B is creased and tongued and connected by staples 8 &c. to the first sheet. The combined sheets are folded to form a carton, Fig. 5, in which articles are packed. By turning the sheet A inside out and reversing the sheet ing the opposite sides of the sheets are displayed and an article 10, Fig. 6, suitably supported on the sloping part 9 of sheet B inside the receptacle is displayed through the opening 1. The device may be made of a single T-shaped sheet. the leg of the T being doubled back and fastened to the top piece. If the receptacle is intended for toy soldiers, it may when reversed represent a. fort with a drawbridge. In the case of foodstuffs, the opening will be closed by transparent material.
