Building blocks, special shapes of.- Building blocks are laid in superposed courses without motar bed joints, and the connect ing means between adjacent blocks consists of a longitudinal rib 3 and a channel 4 of substantially the same depth but of greater width than the rib, cement or other material being filled in the vertical spaces 5 between the rib and channel. The sides of the channels and ribs may be recessed. The meeting edges of the faces of the blocks may be recessed as at 7 and pointed. A plurality of ribs and channels may be provided, and each brick may be partly ribbed and partly channelled.
