Cap - stoppers, screw ; materials, special, for capsules; stoppers, means to prevent loss of.-An improved cap for collapsable tubes and other containers comprises a neck or spigot 2 and a head or socket portion 1, the spigot portion 2 being adapted to be inserted in a cavity 3 in the socket portion and to clamp a cork &c. disc 7 therein. To ensure a permanent connection between the spigot portion and the cavity, both are tapered and the former is provided with a milled or otherwise roughened surface. The spigot portion 2 carries means, such as a screw thread, for detachably attaching the cap to the container and its lower edge is flanged outwards to provide a recess 10 adapted to accommodate the loop of a member permanently securing the cap to the container. The head and spigot portions may be formed of the same material or of different materials, for instance the head may be of metal and the spigot portion of a different metal or of wood, vulcanite, casein &c.
