Abstract
271,095. Spieser, W. May 12, 1927. Closure members, rotary spherical.-A rotary ball-shaped valve having a resiliently-supported or other self-adjusting facing or seating ring is arranged so that the ring 4 is forced to its seating or facing 5 by a small effective fluid pressure whereby the use of special pressure relieving mechanism is obviated. Figs. 1 and 2 show forms in which the ring is carried by the rotary member 2; in the second form the ring is supported by a resilient membrane. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement in which the ring 4 is carried by the casing part 1 and forms a resilient seating.
