270,895. Johnson, C. G. May 3, 1926. Surface and outline gauges.-In a limit gauge for testing external screw threads of the kind in which cylindrical members or rollers come into contact with the work, the rollers 2, 3, 4 are free to rotate when in use and are arranged in series with the pair or pairs at one end at a greater distance apart than the pair or pairs at the other end, while the distance between at least one pair can be adjusted. The adjustment takes the form of a sleeve 6 eccentrically mounted on a bolt 7 and locked by a nut 8. The roller is free to rotate on the sleeve. Rings or discs 4a, 5, 5<a> on the rollers enable the thread surface to be tested. Specification 255,646 is referred to.
