Abstract

286,178. Dehn, F. B., (Hobbs Manufacturing Co.), Sept. 29, 1927. Stationary - cutter machines.-A cutter for scoring, slitting or indenting cardboard &c. is carried in arms 19, pivoted on a pin 18 in a slot in a housing 13. The cutter 16 is mounted on a bolt 21 by ballbearings 20. The head of the bolt 21 and a nut 22 engage the cheeks of the housing to prevent side movement. To allow of adjustment of the cutter without greatly altering its point of contact with the top of the backing roll 11, the pin 18 is placed at the level of the cutter axis in mid-position. The arms 19 are adjusted by a ball-ended screw 27 engaging a split-nut 29 carried in a splitbearing 20 in the housing 13.
