Abstract

270,679. Parker Rust Proof Co., (Assignees of Green, M., and Willard, H. H.). May 10, 1926, [Convention date]. Coating.-In a process for rustproofing iron or steel articles by dipping the articles into a solution containing free phosphoric acid and ferrous and manganese dihydrogen orthophosphates, manganese dihydrogen orthophosphates is added periodically to the solution and at such intervals that there is maintained in the solution at least one-third as much manganese and preferably one-half as much, as iron. The process is carried out in an elevated temperature in the neighbourhood of the boiling point of the solution. Specification 273,168 is referred to.
