Abstract

Magnetic instruments.-In a sound-producing horn, a vibratory disc 90 connected to the soundproducing diaphragm 3 is mounted beyond the front of the sound-projecting trumpet 95. In the electric horn shown, the diaphragm 3 and armature 19 are rigidly connected together by a bolt 17 passing through a sleeve 15 screwed to the centre of the diaphragm, and the disc 90 is carried by an extension of the bolt 17 and is further supported by a spring bar 86 secured across the mouth of the trumpet 95. The inner end of the bolt 17 engages with the base of a yoke member 23 which is provided with a reinforcing rib 84 and with projecting lugs which fit recesses in a leaf spring 21. The interrupter contacts 37, 38 are mounted on a pedestal 83 and are operated by an adjustable screw 41 on the yoke member engaging a hard -contact 40 in a cup on the spring 32.
