Abstract

549,826. Diaphragm horns. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and LUCAS, O. June 5, 1941, No. 7127. [Class 13] A double-tone horn comprises a pair of air passages b designed to produce two tones of different pitch, a diaphragm g mounted over one end of each passage, and electromagnetic means for vibrating the diaphragms. The air passages b are formed in part by spiral grooves in opposite faces of a member a forming the body of the horn and in part by an extension e projecting from one side of the body and internally divided by a member f. Each groove b is closed by a flat plate c having a central aperture opposite the inner end of the groove. Each operating means comprises a coil j, core k, armature l secured to the diaphragm g, and an interrupter q.
