Diaphragms, construction of.- The diaphragm b is strengthened at the centre by two or more laminations b' built up on each side thereof around a pin c which is screwed into the armature d, the laminations decreasing in diameter outwardly from the diaphragm disc. Where the pin c does not carry the armature, the laminations are secured by a nut on the pin.
