Horns, construction of; diaphragm horns; sound magnifying and directing appliances.-A bulb horn and an electric diaphragm horn are connected to the same trumpet A, the diaphragm horn being mounted directly over an open part of the trumpet. Fig. 1 shows a form in which the diaphragm horn is at the side of the trumpet, and the continuity is preserved by a semi-rigid membrane L. The air-bulb communicates with the trumpet through a reed and nested segments C, D. Fig. 2 shows an arrangement in which the diaphragm horn forms the end of the trumpet, the reflecting inner wall H1 being mounted on the diaphragm.
