Abstract

268,536. Haarnagell, G. March 9, 1926. Addition to 194,433. Vehicle windows; sashes balanced by springs.- A modified form of the balancing device described in the parent Specification consists of two pairs of levers 11, 12 symmetrically arranged on the outer face of the sash and controlled by springs 15, 19. The frame 1 is pivoted at 8 and the sliding sash is pivotally connected to the balancing device at 21 so that when fully raised the sash and the frame 1 may be pivoted together into the vehicle. An adjustable rack 3 is fixed to the frame and the sash is secured in any position by means of the gripper 4. The centre of gravity of the window lies on a vertical line between the hinge 21 and the outer wall. The balancing levers are pivoted on a cross-bar 17 secured to the frame outside the sash guides.
