Abstract

267,714. South Metropolitan Gas Co., and Anderson, T. C. March 22, 1926. Hatches. - Hatch covers are secured in position by ropes or cables A, which terminate in shackles B one of which is detachably secured to an eye-plate D fastened to the deck whilst the other is similarly fastened but a strainer E is interposed between the eye-plate and the shackle. The rope &c. pass over sheaves H mounted in frames H' attached to the hatch coaming, the ropes being prevented from leaving the sheaves by pins K which secure its hinged cuter half of one frame.
