Abstract
110,979. Black, J. Dec. 9, 1916. Lifting-cradles and the like.-A device for lowering passengers or goods from a ship's deck into a boat comprises a canvas bag adapted to be lowered on a pair of guide lines secured to the ship and held taut by the occupants of the boat. The bag g has a wooden bottom and is roped round at the top and the bottom to attach thimbles g<2> adapted to slide on the lines f secured to arms e attached to the boat deck. A rope bridle h held apart by a wooden crutch k is secured to the top of the bag and to a ring j which is secured to the lowering tackle c. The bag may be perforated to permit the escape of water.
