Abstract
267,268. Rose, W., and Rose Bros. (Gainsborough), Ltd. Jan. 27, 1926. Labelling.-Relates to machines for wrapping or labelling boxes, packages of cigarettes, or similar articles, and of the kind in which each article is moved along a channel by a pusher actuated by endless chains to carry the article and a wrapper or label, fed transversely across the path thereof, into a folding bcx. As shown, the device, by which the label &c. 9 is fed, in a vertical direction across the parts of the article, comprises upper elements 11, 12, and lower elements 13, 14 so arranged that portions A of the lower elements are higher than portions B of the upper elements. The label is thus positively guided by one or both sets of elements throughout its travel into the position shown in Fig. 2. The cross-bars 6, on the endless chains 4, 5, and carrying the pushers 7 are cranked, as shown in Fig. 1, so as to conform to the spaces between the upper and lower elements. In a modified form, the guiding elements and the cross-bars may be curved.
