Abstract

985,185. Wrapping-machines. MOLINS ORGANISATION Ltd. Nov. 29, 1963 [Dec. 13, 1962], No. 47174/62. Heading B8C. Wrappers of cigarette packages carried by pushers 2 of endless conveyers 3 along a machine bed 1, have side tucks formed in their open ends by members 6 pivoted at 7 to slides 8, the members 6 being held out of the tuckmaking position until reaching the end of guides 14 whereupon a spring 10 pulls each member 6 inwards to form the tucks. Each slide 8 is joined by a pin 12 to a plate 24 projecting from a carriage 21 running on a rail 23, a cam 17 and spring 25 reciprocating the carriage. Camoperated members 15, 16 tuck in the broad end flaps of the package. A clamping plate 33 is operated, in conjunction with each tucker 16, to hold the package during the tucking operation. The device is fitted to a four-track machine, two tracks only being shown in Fig. 2. The tucker 16 may be replaced by tuckers carried on an endless conveyer, Fig. 4 (not shown).
