Abstract
266,863. Arnold, C. L., and M. K. Electric, Ltd., Jan. 15, 1926. Switches, quick-action.-In a tumbler or like switch of the type in which the contact-member 15 is moved by an intermediate member 14 until a dead-centre is passed, whereupon the movement is completed by spring action, the spring or springs are attached to the ends of a lever 17 pivoted on a pin 16 carried by the contact-member. The tumbler 11 is pivoted on a cranked pin 12 secured in the bridge 13, the ends 25 of the pin 12 forming pivots for the member 15. The member 14 is mounted on the same pivot as the tumbler and the latter has a forked extension carrying a pin 19 which passes through the member 14. The member 14 initiates the movement of the contact-member by engaging the pin 16 and it has lost-motion either with the pin 16 or with the pin 19, or with both. In the arrangement shown, a single spring 21. attached to the ends of the lever 17, passes over a roller mounted on the pin 19. In a modification, the roller is replaced by a lever the ends of which are connected by springs to the ends of the lever 17. Specifications 249,339 and 258,464 are referred to.
