Switches, quick-action.-A switch is provided with lost motion between the handle and its shaft, and between the shaft and the contactcarrying member. As applied to an ironclad switch, the handle c has a lost motion connection with a shaft a rigidly carrying an arm l on which are a pin k and roller m. The contact blades g are insulated on a tube f loosely surrounding the shaft a and carrying an arm i slotted at j to engage the pin k. Quick-a c t u a t i o n is effected by means of the roller m engaging a cam surface formed on a sliding rod n controlled by springs q. A spring r retains the contactcarrier f in the closing movement until the roller m passes the apex of the cam. Specification 207,363 is referred to.
