Abstract

266,172. Wach, H. March 19, 1926, [Convention date]. Motor power plant.-A plant, comprising a turbine fed with the exhaust steam of a reciprocating engine and driving the engine shaft through gearing and a fluid coupling is provided with a fluid-pressure control system. A hand and governor-controlled distributing valve e of the system controls the supply of oil to a fluid coupling c and the piston of an exhaust steam valve d which; supplies the turbine b or opens to the condenser. When the governor s falls a, valve r admits pressure oil to a piston u on the distributing valve e which thereupon releases the oil in the coupling c and opens the steam valve d to the condenser. In normal operation the valve r, which is only operated by the governor s in the forward direction, releases the pressure on the piston u of the distributing valve e which can then be moved by hand to bring the fluid coupling c into action and to open the steam valve d to the turbine as soon as a certain speed is reached. Specifications 264,055, 264,359 and 266,261 are referred to.
