Abstract
265,391. Preen, T. A., and Preen, T. A. Feb. 20, 1926. Fastenings for slid ing windows.-A fastener for sash windows has two racks c, d fastened to the window frame and top sash respectively, and a bolt e which can engage both racks to lock the sashes in any desired position. The bolt is carried in a frame f secured to the top of the bottom sash, and the end of the nose c<2> engages the rack d while the side of the nose e<1> engages the rack c. It is held in the locking position by springs h, but can be withdrawn from both racks by sliding. It can be locked in its " on or " off " position by a spring-pressed locking pin provided with a handle j. In a modification the locking pin may be replaced by a catch forming part of a lock operated by a removable key.
