Locking nuts.-In a pipe joint which includes a gland 5 screwing into a union nut 2, the two parts are locked together in both directions of rotation by means of a circlip 1 formed with a radial portion which projects through one of a number of radial holes 4 in the union nut into one of a number of longitudinal grooves 6 in the gland. The circlip 1 is housed in a groove 3 on the nut, while the longitudinal grooves 6 are of square cross-section. The radial holes 4 are preferably greater in number than the longitudinal grooves 6 in order to obtain a fine adjustment.
