Abstract

264,301. Cummer, F. H. Dec. 22, 1925. Stationary mixers with rotary stirrers. -A mixer for road materials comprises a pair of parallel horizontal shafts fitted with beaters rotating in a trough the end walls of which are provided with open-ended slots closed by renewable plates fitted with glands for the shafts; the .container is provided with a lining formed in sections, and with a sliding discharge gate supported on vertically-adjustable rollers. The trough 2, in which the shafts 3 rotate, is provided with slots 10 closed by plates 11 in which the glands 14 for the shafts are provided. The shafts are supported by bearings 5. The lining is made in six or more parts extending transversely of the trough, three on each side, the middle sections being shorter and extending to the edge of the discharge door. The gate comprises a longitudinally-arranged bar 16, mounted on vertically-adjustable rollers 29, and carrying a V-shaped part 19. It is reciprocated by means of a piston 26 and cross lever.
