Storing under pressure.- In devices for releasing fluids, in particular fireextinguishing gases, from containers in which they are retained under pressure by a seal, a seal-rupturing punch is released when an electromagnet is energized, for example through a relay thermostat. A gas bottle 10 is closed by a seal 20. A cutter 15 is carried by a punch 25 urged downwardly by a spring 16 against the pressure of a weaker cushioning spring 31, but normally held raised by spring pressed arms 42. When the electromagnet. 48 is energized its core 43 descends against the action of a spring 52 and spreads the arms 42, allowing the punch to descend and break the seal. The seal 20 may be arranged to fracture under excessive pressure. The core 43 may be depressed by hand pressure on an extension 61.
