Abstract

1,121,587. Fire extinguishers. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. 17 March, 1967 [18 April, 1966], No. 16930/66. Heading A5A. In a fire extinguisher of the gas cartridge type in which a manually operable handle depresses a pin to rupture the cartridge seal, the pin 7 has a longitudinal slot 25 to permit escape of gas from the cartridge 13 notwithstanding continued depression of the pin after piercing the seal. The extinguisher may include a valve controlling the output from the extinguisher to a nozzle, the valve being mounted on the pin 7 and a return spring 15 for the pin being arranged to close the valve on release of the handle.
