Belts.-In linked V-belts of the type in which friction pads are secured to the side faces of the alternate links of a continuous chain core, the said alternate links are formed as two metal plates b each pressed out to form bearing-recesses b<1>, in which engage corresponding pivot-pin projections a<2> pressed out from plates a forming the intermediate links. The plates a are secured together by eyelets a' or rivets, and the plates b are formed with perforated spacing-bosses b<2> through which pass the screws c securing the leather pads d, which may be recessed or perforated to receive the parts b<1>. The plates b may be secured together by bolts or screws and the pads d be secured in any desired manner. In a modification, the leather pads are replaced by impregnated layers of canvas, to which may be vulcanized internally and externally layers of rubber. Specification 175,203 is referred to.
