Abstract

197,385. Barker, J. E. Feb. 8, 1922. Belts.-A driving belt having bevelled edges for use with expanding pulleys and of the type in which the. pull is arranged to be approximately central, comprises a band Ax of leather, fabric, or the like, to the underside of which are attached channel-shaped blocks B<x> of suitable metal such as aluminium or an alloy thereof. Each block B<x> comprises a central somewhat T- shaped rib B<2> with inclined ends B' to which are attached facings B<6> of leather, metal composition. &c. The blocks are attached to the band A<x> by bolts passing through holes in strengthening bosses B<3> formed in the parts B<2>. The arrangement of the band in the bed of the channel centralises the pull with reference to the inclined faces B<1>.
