Abstract

355,423. Dog-racing apparatus. HILL, J. and HILL, C., Henry Street, Dungannon, Co. Tyrone, Ireland. June 25, 1930, No. 19330. [Class 132 (i).] In greyhoundracing apparatus of the kind in which the lure 3, Fig. 1, is attached to an endless cable 4 which is driven by an endless belt 9, 10 having means for gripping the cable over a part of its length, means are provided for bring- ing the clipping devices together as they meet the cable and to release them as they recede therefrom. In the arrangement described a trolley 2 by which the lure is carried is connected to the endless cable 4 running over horizontal pulleys 5. Drums 7, 8 drive a two-part belt 9, 10 connected by hinges 11 riveted thereto each of which has a plate 12 for gripping the cable attached thereto provided with pins 13 on which are compression springs 14 normally tending to close the grips, as shown in Fig. 6, but which are forced apart by the drums 7, 8 bearing on the belts 9, 10 as shown in Fig. 4.
