Abstract
380,132. Rope railings. SAUNDERS, C. A., 34, Waller Street, Luton, Bedfordshire. June 12, 1931, No. 17053. [Class 104 (ii).] The driving arrangement for the mechanical lure on dog-racing tracks, consists of an endless rope, wire cord &c. a, Fig. 1, trained around the course on vertical and horizontal guide pulleys b, b<1>, b<2> and driven by a pulley 1, Fig. 5, in combination with a smaller pulley m about both of which the turns of the rope &c. are trained and which are disposed out of parallelism so that the turns are laid evenly on the driving pulley. The rope &c. is tensioned by a spring supported pulley d. Preferably the lure carriage f, Fig. 3, has grooved wheels g running on a rail e and is releasably connected to the driving rope by a flexible member k. The lure is carried by an arm h pivoted to the carriage and held centrally by springs. A counterweight i balances the lure arm and attachment. The invention may be applied to the type of course without a rail.
