Belts. - In link belts with alternate metal links 7 and leather or like links 8, the pivot pins 9 are of D - shaped elliptical, or other non - circular form and frictionally en gage similar holes in the metal links but circular holes or slots in the leather links. The pairs of plates forming each of the non-metallic links are secured together by screws, rivets, &c. 11. The metal links may be arranged in spaced pairs 12, Fig. 5, a plate 13 of vulcanized fibre or leather being secured to the leather links 8 and lying between the metal plates. A flat or V-shaped belt' may be built up of any number of non-metallic links arranged side by side and separated by metallic links carrying the non-circular pivot pins.
