Abstract

868,464. Endless conveyers. SUPREME CONVEYOR BELT CO. Ltd. Aug. 31, 1959 [July 18, 1958], No. 23053/58. Class 78 (1). An endless conveyer consists of two series of chain links 11 interconnected by common pins 111 which extend across the space between them, and a series of perforated sheet-metal plates 10 having interfitting tongues and grooves, the tongues being bent around the pins 111 to form hinge connections so that a continuous articulated conveying surface is formed. In the construction of Figs. 1, 3, each tongue 103 is integral with the respective plate and, beyond the portion passing around the respective pin 111, is formed with a flat end 104 which is spotwelded to the underside of the plate. In the construction of Fig. 8, each tongue is formed by a separate piece 105 which has a bent portion 106 surrounding the respective pin 111 and a flat part 107 spot-welded to the underside of the respective plate 10.
