Abstract
262,521. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., and Trencham, H. Sept. 11, 1925. Sliding switch-carriage arrangements.-Electric switch gear comprises a movable contact 24 co-operating with fixed contacts 23 immersed in oil in a tank 27 and operated by a handle 20. The gear is slidable on a structure 11 and a contact 40 connected to one of the contacts 23 is adapted to engage a fixed contact 41 connected to one of the bus-bars 16. A similar contact 42 carried by a transformer chamber 17 detachably secured to the top of the gear and connected to the other contact 23 is adapted to engage a fixed contact 44 connected to the cable in the circuit chamber 13. The space surrounding the connections between the contacts 23 and the contacts 40, 42 is filled with an insulating compound.
