Counting-apparatus.-Apparatus for counting the productive movements of a moulding-machine &c. comprises an arrangement of links and levers whereby the counteractuating means is moved in one direction by one action of the machine and in the other direction by a further or completing action. As applied to an oil-cake moulding- machine a pin 15, Fig. 1, carried by the frame mould 5 reciprocated between the hopper 1 and the press piston 9, works in a slot 16 in a pitman 17 pivoted to a lever 20 actuating the counter 13. When the frame mould, therefore, is advanced the lever 20 is swung to the left and this, through a rod 23, brings a stop 28 against an arm of a bell-crank lever 29. When the piston 9 rises, a link 31 rocks the lever 29 to restore the rod 23 and lever 20 and thus to complete the actuation of the counter. In a modification the return stroke is effected by a spring-controlled lever 37, Fig. 4, acted upon by a piston 40 subjected to the pressure in the press cylinder.
