Work-holders. - A vice adjustably secured to a machine tool table by nuts 2, 3 and 4, has the movement of its screw operated jaw 5 limited by a pin 18 on the jaw holder 6 projecting into a short groove 19 in the jaw 5, so that overhang of the jaw 5 in its holder 6 is limited and further use necessitates re-adjustment of the jaw holder 6 on the base 1 by operating and sliding T-headed bolts 12 in slots in the base. The screw 20 works partly in a greasefilled housing 20<1> and has a notched disc 23 to fit into similar notches on the handle 26 to release the handle. Fig. 3 is an arrangement of three movable jaws used on a machine table, the fixed jaws being dispensed with.
