Abstract

260,986. Bellak, R. Nov. 4, 1925, [Convention date]. Cementation.-In a process for the cementation of iron and steel, the material to be hardened is embedded in comminuted tobacco waste, particularly tobacco dust, and the cementation then effected by heating. The tobacco may be mixed with a small percentage of carbonized products such as charcoal, leather charcoal, bone charcoal, &c. In an example, 70 parts by weight of tobacco dust are mixed with 20 parts of leather charcoal or dried and carbonized blood and 10 parts of charcoal.
