Abstract

Dobbies.-In dobbies for use in weaving taffetas means are provided for accelerating certain healds when they approch their centre positions, thereby preventing all the warps which are being shed from crossing in the same plane and at the same time. The T-levers 2 carry cams 23 adapted to engage bowls 21 on a base 15 slidable in slots 14 in fixed brackets 11. Chains or cables 26 connected to the base 15 pass over sprockets or pulleys 18 slidable on fixed rods 16, the other ends of the chains or cables being secured to the hooks 9 which it is desired to accelerate towards their centre positions. When the cams 23 have passed their centre positions, the bar 15 falls and the hooks to which the chains are attached are allowed to return to their normal positions.
