Abstract

205,130. Sandeman, R. L. May 17, 1922. Pile-fabric looms.-The warps K, which are to be looped to form pile, are raised by the jacquard and engaged by hook-like elements E secured to a transverse bar F on a shaft F<1> carried by arms F<2> on a shaft F<3> rocked by lever mechanism and a cam G<4>. The shaft F<1> is rocked by means of a rack and cam-controlled lever mechanism, and the shaft F<3> is moved endwise by a bell-crank lever J and cam-controlled lever mechanism, whereby the hooks E are so operated as to cause them to loop the pile warps over detent-elements A provided with knife-blades, which may be inclined. The elements A are formed with retaining-latches B, or retaining-pins, and may comprise vertical blades fitted in slots in a transverse bar C. The elements A may be provided with rotary cutting-discs.
