Abstract
189,644. Grosvenor, J. E., and Picking, W. T. Nov. 25, 1921. Addition to 175,450. Reeds. - Comprises detail improvements in the loom for weaving velvet-pile fabrics &c. described in the parent Specification. The upper ends of the reed dents 7, Fig. 4, pass freely between rounded pins 71 secured to two plates 70 secured to and moving with the member 9 that slides laterally in the lay-cap, the pins being of less diameter than the spaces between the dents. In order that the dents may be easily removed individually, the lower ends are placed between the teeth of a comb-like member 72, Fig. 5, secured to the lay-bottom, a retaining-bar 73 engaging slots in the dents and being retained in a groove in the member 72 by means of a plate 76. The dents may rest on the lay-bottom or upon a bar 75 placed in a slot in the member 72.
