Late news, means for printing; stereotype.- Late news or like matter is printed by means of a stereotype plate cast from a matrix prepared by impressing a compressible blank in a typewriter or like machine, the plate being arranged 'to print in a space left by an opening in the main stereotype plate. The late news plate may be carried on a separate cylinder or may be inserted in the main plate itself. Stops for limiting the movement of the dies in the matrix impressing machine may be provided to ensure that the impressions are all of the same depth.
