Abstract

259,811. Lockwood, D., and Searle, A. J. Jan. 27, 1926. Wire and cord strainers.-The cord &c. is secured at one end by a cleat 17 and passes over a hook 16 and at the other end passes over a fixed pulley 13 and a second pulley 10 at the free end of a link member 6 adjustably connected to a bifurcated lever 1. The lever is pivoted to lugs 3 on a bracket 4 which, with the pulley 13 may be carried by a fixing board 15a, or the bracket and pulley may be fixed at opposite ends of a rod screwed to the wall &c. The hook and cleat may be carried similarly. When the cord &c. is tightened the lever is in the position in which its pivot and the pin 9 are out of dead centre.
