Abstract

An upper arm (1) and a lower arm (2) of the articulation arm are connected to each other in an articulated manner by articulation eyes (3, 4) and by an articulation pin (5). The articulation eye (4) of the lower arm (2) has a profiled surface (8) which is adjoined by an attachment (9) on which there is suspended a pulling rope (10) which is braced by a tension spring (11) arranged in the upper arm (1). When the lower arm (2) is pivoted relative to the upper arm (1), that end of the pulling rope (10) adjacent to the attachment (9) wraps around the profiled surface (8). The profiled surface (8) is arranged eccentrically with respect to the articulation pin (5), such that the lever arm, acting on the lower arm with respect to the articulation pin (5), of the pulling rope (10) is greater when the lower arm (2) is extended than when it is bent. The tensile force, which varies due to expansion, of the spring (11), is compensated for by an arrangement of this type.
