Abstract
259,681. Reiser, H. July 16, 1925. Pulverulent-fuel furnaces; casings and walls; heating and drying fuel. - The walls of a a pulverulent-fuel furnace are cooled by a non-tubular water jacket forming part of a closed circuit in which the water circulates, the heat removed by the circulating water being returned and used at other places in the installation. As shown in the Figure, the furnace F is enclosed by a water jacket connected by leads W<1>, W<2> to a tubular cooling apparatus B. A fan V draws air through the tubes of the apparatus B and passes it to the burner through the pipe S2. Air also passes to the mill M through the pipe P and thence to the burner through the pipe K mixed with pulverized coal.
