Abstract
259,552. Backer, C. B. Oct. 9, 1925, [Convention date]. Insulating coverings for conductors.-Insulated conductors are made by assembling loosely within a metallic tube a central conducting rod or wire of ductile metal, and metallic magnesium, which may be in the form of tubes of magnesium ribbon surrounding the central conductor, and then passing steam under high pressure through the outer metallic tube to convert the magnesium into magnesium hydroxide. The composite body so formed is then annealed and worked to the required dimensions by swaging, rolling, drawing, &c. Specification 173,742 is referred to.
