Abstract
479,033. Making electric conductors. KOPETZ, J. July 28, 1936, No. 20872. Convention date, Aug. 26, 1935. [Class 83 (ii)] The process described in Specification 375,676, [Group XXVIII], for building up helically grooved tubes is employed in the production of electric conductors, metal strips being used wholly or in part. Such a tube is shown in Fig. 1, and this may have the corrugations crowded together by the process described in Specification 389,413, [Group XXVIII]. Such a conductor is shown in Fig. 2 with an insulated covering 3. Several layers of similar conductors may be formed with insulated layers therebetween and the inner conductor may house an ordinary cable. The several layers may be stepped at the end so as to enable tapping contacts to be fitted insulated from one another. In Fig. 4 are shown two conductors 8, 10 with insulation 10, 11 and armouring 12, the conductors being of helical grooved tubing with the corrugations crowded up.
