Abstract
455,535. Cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., 63, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Talmann, A.) Nov. 15, 1935, No. 31679. Convention date, Jan. 23. Addition to 417,929. [Class 36] In a coaxial conductor air-space cable of the kind described in the parent Specification wherein the outer conductor is formed by a plurality of overlapping interengaging strips 2 held together by external bindings 4, 5, and wherein each strip comprises two laterally offset strip-like portions 9, 10, Fig. 2, the inner portions 10 are thicker than the outer portions 9 and the edges of the inner portions of adjacent strips abut, whilst the outer portions are preferably of such a length that a space 11 is left between the edges of adjacent outer portions. One or both edges of the inner portion of each strip may be bevelled to obtain a greater area of contact between the abutting edges of the strips. A lead sheath 6 may be applied over the bindings as shown in Fig. 1.
