Cut - out arrangements.-Actuating current is varied in response to the influence of controlling currents by a choking coil 8, 8<a> wound on an iron core 7 connected in series with the source of current 5 by means of master windings 6, 6<a> which vary the effective permeability of the core. The master windings are so arranged that their ampere turns constantly act in different senses and the operative circuit current is varied when the ratio of ampere turns in one master winding relatively to the other varies. The choking coil is preferably so arranged as to be non-inductively related to the master windings. In a modification a three-limbed core is employed, the centre limb carrying the master windings and the outer limbs the operative winding.
