Abstract

257,427. Oddy, w. D., Bennett, E., and Oddy, F. W., (trading as O. B. Engineering Co.). Oct. 5, 1925. Rope grips.-The jaws 2, 3 of a haulage clip are fitted with detachable gripping surfaces 1 which consist of longitudinal strips of arcuate, semicircular, &c. cross-section with splayed projecting end pieces 12 which are turned back or over into grooves, recesses, &c. 13 in the clip. The bearings for the actuating screw 8 may be secured in the same manner. The jaws are maintained in alignment by pins 6 which pass through holes formed in the bosses 7 of the movable jaw 3 and are secured at their upper ends to a boss member 5 which is connected by a web 4 to the fixed jaw 2.
