Abstract
A zip device comprising three main parts, a securing loop (a, figure 1) which is the holding point for the locking teeth, an internal securing wedge (a) and the fixing stud (b), which are brought into their locking state by the method of pulling the fastener (figure 3) through the device to its opposite end point. The teeth side of the zip comprises two pieces of holding material, unlike a conventional zip which only has one. A padlock may be used in addition at the finishing end of the zip. The zip is able to lock into place and create a secure seal, essentially protecting the contents of the item, and showing visible and obvious damage if the zip is tampered with.
Description
Secure Tamper Proof Zsp Design
A new zip design that is more secure and harder to gain access to and any access would be obvious due to the damage it would cause to the mechanism.
Detailed Description
The design is a new variation on the conventional zip design. It has three parts, the teeth, the hook and the fastener. The teeth can only be opened by the fastener. The teeth will lock together via a locking stud and secured in a fixed position inside the hook. The teeth side of the device will be two sections and will be fixed in place by two pieces of holding material unlike a conventional zip which only has one.The hook side will be the holding section. The teeth are designed so they can not be prised apart without force, which would therefore breaking the links. The fastener will be held in place at the -finishing end with a securing bolt/pad lock. This zip will only be able to open and shut in a single direction and will not be able to house two mechanisms like a convention zip which can travel either direction to open and close.
The fastener device will have to be slightly larger than a conventional fastener, twice the length and width, and will feed the teeth and holding piece into position and secured by the stud.
Background
This invention solves the issue that a conventional zip has, that it is easily compromised. A conventional zip can be accessed and then repaired by its fastener by pulling the fastener back over the area to correct the teeth back into its fixed position.
Statement of Invention
This invention would allow a more secure method of sealing a suitcase or special parcel for delivery companies. It could also be adapted for specialist clothing types. The fixed teeth position would only be unfastened using the fastening device or via a forced entry. A forced entry would in fact break the teeth and therefore render the zip broken and unable to return to its natural state.
Advantages
The zip is constructed in a way that allows the internal teeth to lock together and it covered by the housing to make a complete unit. The unique design means that the only way to part and attach the teeth is by the fastener.
Introduction to Drawings
The invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings:

Claims (10)
1. A zip style fastening device, this is more secure and is harder to compromise and any tampering of the device or forced access would be unrepairable and clearly visible.
2. The fastener device according to claim 1; will be slightly larger than a conventional zip style fastener and will feed along the teeth clamping them together on the inside of the holding piece in a fixed position and secured by a securing block and stud.
3. The fastener according to claim 1; is only able to travel from one end, (open) and finish at the other, (closed) where it can be secured into position with a padlock or specialist securing device.
4. The device according to claim 1; has four main parts, the teeth top and bottom sections, the securing loop and the fastener.
5. The teeth according to claim 4; have an internal interlocking stud and is compressed and released via the motion of the fastener.
6. A single locking teeth section of the device according to claim 1; will be fixed or bounded into place as per a conventional zip creating a fixed structure.
7. The teeth according to claim 6; are designed so they cannot be prised apart without force, which would therefore break the locking stud within the link and render the device broken.
8. The securing loops according to claim 4; will be fixed or bounded into place as per a conventional zip creating a fixed structure.
9. The fastening device according to claim 4; will be a moulded piece of metal to provide strength and durability and enabling it to clamp the teeth into place.
10. The fastener according to claim 9; will be controlled via a toggle anchor secured onto the fastening section.
