Spokes, securing; wheels with non-supporting casings enclosing spokes. - A well-base rim is formed with grooves 6 adjacent its flanges to receive the spoke nipples 1 and with raised seatings 5 for the tyre edges 10. In the construction shown, the rim flanges are provided with extensions 7 to form housings for the edges 11 of wind shields 12.
